01-16-06 -- Foundation Web-based Knowledge System Ready for Comment
Contractors will now get faster access to Foundation research results and related educational programs. ELECTRI International is developing a new system, the Knowledge Framework, to provide a go-to, online database source for research results developed by the Foundation. The Framework will group together related research, resources, and MEI courses to help contractors easily find answers to questions and learn more about a topic of interest.
As an additional benefit, the Framework will organize and classify research results completed to date. This will help the Foundation to be more systematic about developing a research agenda that builds upon existing work. Contractors can also use the Knowledge Framework site to offer feedback on research results and suggestions for research topics.
The Foundation commissioned Penn State University to develop a pilot version of the Knowledge Framework. It is currently available for comment at http://www.engr.psu.edu/ae/ecf/ecf.aspx A link to the site can also be found at the Foundation´s own website www.electri.org
